Talk at the University of Lausanne
Pervasive Health 2017
On 25th of May 2017, I presented (see pictures) a full paper at the Pervasive Health conference in Barcelona. The paper describes how behavior change strategies are evaluated differently solely based on who comes up with the content: experts or peers. The title of the paper is: ”Experts get me started, peers keep me going: comparing crowd- versus expert-designed motivational text messages for exercise behavior change”, and you can find the paper here!
Journal paper: Personal and Ubiquitous Computing
I published a journal paper on how behavior change strategies can be tailored to individual differences in the Personal and Ubiquitous Computing journal. The paper is titled: “A word of advice: how to tailor motivational text messages based on behavior change theory to personality and gender”, and you can find it here!
Persuasive 2017 workshop
On the 4th of April 2017, Piiastinna Tikka, Randy Klaassen, Pasi Karppinen, Robby van Delden and myself organized a workshop at the Persuasive 2017 conference in Amsterdam. It was great fun and we had some nice submissions and talks (as you can see from the pictures)!
Whoops! I’ve been away for a while…
Let me update you on some of the highlights that happened during this away time in the next few posts.
CHI 2016 presentation
Two days ago I did my CHI presentation (you can find it here: CHI2016_finalversion) about my paper Crowd-Designed Motivation: Motivational Messages for Exercise Adherence Based on Behavior Change Theory (you can find it here: paper). The session was quite popular I think (guesstimate: 250 people) with some thought-provoking questions and discussion!
I’m in San Jose for the CHI 2016 conference, where I will present work I’ve done for a full paper (Crowd-Designed Motivation: Motivational Messages for Exercise Adherence Based on Behavior Change Theory) on Monday morning (09/05)! If you’re coming to CHI and interested in crowdsourcing, behavior change, or motivational technology, come to my session/talk (in LL 20 D from 11:30 tot 12:50)!
